Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Gentile knew that he wanted to work with people and form long-lasting relationships with them, and he had a love for science and an interest in medicine. On top of this, he liked how dental technology is constantly evolving. For him, dentistry was the perfect fit in every way, and he hasn’t looked back since deciding to make it his career.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Gentile graduated from SUNY Albany before going on to receive his DDS from the New York University College of Dentistry. While in dental school, he was awarded honors in oral pathology and medicine, and he has continued his education through well-known groups including the Seattle Study Club and Spear Education. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Life at home is delightfully busy for Dr. Gentile and his wife, Kate, thanks to their baby, Ben, their dog, Odie, and their cat, Peepaw. Originally from Long Island, he says that he came to Texas for one main reason—the BBQ! He used to smoke briskets in his own tiny backyard in New York while he was a dental student. After visiting Austin and trying the best of the best BBQ there, he knew he wanted to make Texas his new home. He often hosts gatherings at his house and also likes to spend his free time playing the guitar, drums, and going to concerts.
